Open browse window in FileChooser Save

Using GTK+-2.4, when opening a file chooser widget for saving files
(gtk_file_chooser_widget_new(GTK_FILE_CHOOSER_ACTION_SAVE), a GTK expander with label "Browse for other
folders" is displayed. Clicking on this expander displays the path/file selection browse window.
Is there a way to automatically display the browse window when the file chooser SAVE window is displayed. An
application developer does not seem to have access to the expander object in order to use
gtk_expander_set_expand().
