I recently had problems with that also, you might also try running
ldconfig as well after installing glib.
ie type:
bash$ ldconfig

hi everyone,
i'm trying to compile GIMP 2.0.4 from source on mandrake 9.1
i also got the atk, glib and pango libs.
current problem:
when trying to compile pango, configure says "GLIB - version >=
2.4.0... no"
excerpt from config.log

configure:21610: checking for GLIB - version >= 2.4.0
configure:21759: result: no
configure:21792: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall conftest.c >&5

function)
configure:21798: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:

but i just compiled and installed GLIB 2.4.6 without any errors.
is it okay that my /usr/local/lib/glib-2.0 only contains an "include"
directory with only "glibconfig.h" in it ?
shouldn't there be also a "lib" dir with stuff in it ?
what could be the problem? i don't know what do to.
tnx & greetings,
stu
