Invisible notebook pages

Hello...

On a window with a notebook, I have to plot on invisible pages (and not
previously viewed). This seems a problem, because the notebook widget does
not seem to actually 'realize' the invisible pages until the are made
visible. 

Is there some elegant way to tell the notebook to send 'realize' commands
to all the widgets on all the pages, on startup?
