H E L P . ..Image gui

Hello all

   I like to make an application which has a gui some what 
similar to xmms. Similar means, I want to keep my image as the 
main window frame and then I will do all the GUI actions based on 
the position of the mouse pointer on the image. Can any one give 
me a hint on how do I procede on this.
