pango - invalid utf8 string

Hi,

Does anyone know such an error message?

** (test2:6280): WARNING **: Invalid UTF8 string passed to
pango_layout_set_text()

I'm using GTK2.0.

It appears on the console if I read text from a GtkTextEntry that
contains a German umlaut like 'ö'.

All the other gtk programs on my system behave properly.

The project has been created with anjuta 1.0.2. Any ideas? Thank you.
