pango ft2 transformations?

  I'm working on a graphics engine. It uses Freetype2 for text. I was
thinking of moving to pango with the FT2 backend.
  However, I need to be able to perform arbitrary transformations of
text, using a matrix (FT_Matrix).
  Can this still be done with pango?
