Caps lock and return keys donot work in GTK2.0 application

Hello,

The problem is that the caps lock and return keys work on the unix terminal, but when i write a GUI application using gtk, these keys donot work in a text box widget. Is there any special keyboard command or GTK function that I need to use to make it work??
