font proplems

hi

i was looking at the gdk 2 api... specifically at the functions for
changing the fonts. they all seemed to be deprecated but the
documentation doesn't say what they have been replaced with. For example
i need to used gdk_text_width and gdk_text_height both function are
deprecated what would i used in there place?
