background image change

I am using gtk+ 2.2.4 
 I want to change background image of window so that
 button , and other widget of window will  remain
 intact . 

if i use window->style->bg_pimap[]=pixmap
 the window i show gives one images replica (tilted)

So  how to make it  , so that one image will come and
if i increase also image size should increase .
