how do i obtain the number of frames of a GdkPixbufAnimation ?

I can not see a method to obtain the number of frames in a
GdkPixbufAnimation.

checking the delay time for -1 does not work.

i have a knob which is a rendered animation.
i assume the gif-animation is a rotation of the knob.

Based on the degrees i select which frame to display.

i ported galan to gtk+-2.0... only the knobs dont work.
