How to reduce the y padding of gtk_cell_renderer_text'd cells?

I am using the GtkTreeView to display a list of text items, but I
don't like how much whitespace there is between the items.  Is there
an easy way to reduce the amount of veritical padding when using the
GtkCellRendererText?  I noticed that while GtkCellRenderer has a ypad
property, GtkCellRendererText does not.
