Hello,

you have to compile your program with GTK1.3.X for framebuffer. This
librairy writes directly into the framebuffer. X events work the same as on
X window. 
See  http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-framebuffer.html

To use the framebuffer, you must have the linux kernel 2.4

        I have two questions and I hope someone knows a solution, thanks in
advance for your help:
        - how can I embed an application -xdvi, gv, ...- into a window of a
Gtk application?
        - how can I send an Xevent to a run application?
