Change size of label text in GtkCTree/GtkCList column headers?

Hi,

  could anyone tell me how to change the size of the label text in the 
column titles of a GtkCTree/GtkCList (this is in Gtk 1.2.n)?  I have 
tried some of the usual suspects but the alignments end up getting all 
messed up.  Thanks!
