I'm the author of a small GTK+ application for FreeBSD
(http://energyhq.homeip.net/brain.html) and have noticed that compiling
with GTK+ 2.0 results in a noticeable slower executable. I'm aware that
a lot of changes were made to GTK in the meantime, but why is it so much
slower? Any hints?
Some things are faster, some are slower, some look slower but aren't,
some look faster but aren't.
So it depends on what your app is doing and what specific operations
you feel are slow.
