Link with libpangoxft??

I added some new Pango calls to my GTK2 app, including pango_layout_set_font_description and pango_language_to_string. Now on some machines (only!), it complains at run-time about being unable to link to libpangoxft-1.0.so.0 (File not found). Any insight?
