gtk (slow speed) cd player

Is there a gtk slow-speed cd player app already
written? That is, an app where you can slow the speed,
but not change the pitch of the music.

I'd also be interested in a good source of information
on writing this type of app(book/web page) or in
gtk/linux audio programming. I've downloaded the
gnome-media and grip source files, but I'd really like
a more tutorial/instructional type text.
