Hi Havoc Pennington,
Use a backing pixmap as in the "scribble" example in the
tutorial. Neither the _clear() nor the _flush() should be needed.
we use "gdk_window_set_back_pixmap" in window-mode and "gdk_draw_pixmap"
in fullscreen mode.. but we need the flush & clean because QIV is also
drawing a status_bar (gdk_draw_rectangle).. without clean/flush GDK is
showing the old image to after moving or zooming..
maybe you could look in image.c from:
