drawing on a gtkdrawingarea.

Can some one give me an example of how to draw on a 
gtkdrawingarea?
I cant find any tutorial that explain this :(

I think right now, i need to understand what the GC is and how the 
gtk_draw_pixmap workes.
I tried reading the gtk include files, but it dont help me :(

The official tutorial for Gtk do not explain this :(

A little peace of code which draws just a line, or a pixmap.. or anything..
would make me a very happy person!
