If X is crashing on the other hand, yes it's by definition an X server
bug. Clients can't crash the server if the server is working properly.
If X crashes, X is broken. X should gracefully handle any condition a
client imposes. 'tis like a kernel. The kernel should gracefully handle
any brokenness from userland.
That of course doesn't obviate whether or not a request of 15 widgets
(generic term) is improper. If 15 widgets really is improper, the client
needs fixed, if 15 widgets is quite proper and X doesn't allow it, X
needs updated.
