Need help with signal

I have an application that is very "muti-threaded" and it generates lots of
logging information.  Actually there are multiple threads generating
multiple logging stream and it needs to be posted to multiple "GtkCList"s.
The question is: which signal do log watcher thread raise so that GtkCList
knows to update itself with latest info?  And on a related note, are there
any docs on the exact semantics of the signals raiesed/responded by GTK+?
