find signal originator?

hi, i have a GtkAdjustment that is getting set incorrectly under certain
situations. i don't think it's my code, but it may be one of the widgets
that uses it. i'm currently checking the values after a "changed"
signal.

is there any way of finding out where the signal started?

i tried stopping the signal with gtk_signal_emit_stop_by_name, but that
doesn't seem to stop the signal at all.

any ideas on tracing signals?
