Avoid newlines in tooltips

Hi!,
is it possible to avoid newlines in tooltips? I have a "formatted"
message with some "\n" inside, that
should newlines only where my "\n" are. But, unfortunately, it sometimes
gets a new line before my will.
Is it possible to force the newlines?
