Focusing a Widget

Hi All!

I'm faily new to GNOME/GTK+ so forgive my dumbness :-) I'm programming a
GNOME/GTK app and have a little trouble: when a particular widget
receives a TAB key, I want to focus another widget using
gtk_widget_grab_focus(<WIDGET>), but GTK seems to focus a widget it
likes, but not mine :-( 

Does anyone have any clues?
