gtk_widget_hide

Hi!

I have a question. I'm having too windows, and I'm having a button in one of them, to hide/show the other 
window. I'm using gtk_widget_hide/show to do this. But now I have the following problem: If i iconice the 
window which is supposted to be shown/hidden, then gtk_widget_hide doesn't work (I still have an tab for it 
in my gnomepanel). That wouldn't be a problem, but now I am able to restore the window by klicking on the tab 
in the panel. That shouldn't be possible, cause I wanted the window to be hidden.

Does anyone know a solution for this? Obviously gtk_widget_hide doesn't work here.
