My wife uses gthumb a LOT for editing/viewing photos.
Since updating to Ubuntu 18.04, we're finding that gthumb will crash
to the point it becomes unkillable and can't be restarted.
Any hints where to look for what might be going wrong?
what version are you using ?
Gthumb 3.6.1 as shipped in Ubuntu 18.04
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what
caused it. Please see
https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/Bugzilla/GettingTraces
for more information on how to do so.
Once you have a stack trace open an issue here
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gthumb/issues and attach the stack trace
as a file.
As a first line of defense: Paul, did you make sure all packages are
current? I.e.
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade
Kind regards
robert
