The apt command for installing the dependencies to compile gthumb in ubuntu is wrong, the correct one is:
sudo apt-get install libtiff5-dev libclutter-gtk-1.0-dev libgstreamer0.10-dev libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev libsoup-gnome2.4-dev libgnome-keyring-dev libbrasero-media3-dev libdbus-glib-1-dev bison flex
