Well, trying to compile gthumb on ubuntu 12.04, issuing
$ ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr CFLAGS="-ggdb"
I get (end of output)
configure: error: Package requirements (
glib-2.0 >= 2.32.0
gthread-2.0
gmodule-2.0
gio-unix-2.0
gtk+-3.0 >= 3.4.0
libpng
zlib
gsettings-desktop-schemas
) were not met:
No package 'gsettings-desktop-schemas' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GTHUMB_CFLAGS
and GTHUMB_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I gave
sudo aptitude build-dep gthumb
and it installed exited without errors
What do I miss?

Selecting various images and "bulk resizing" them (I tried 50% and 60%)
I got black images!!!
Serious data loss!!!
Can you please try the current git version and see if it works correctly for
you?
