I am not a maintainer or anything but I think goocanvas was more of a concept how a canvas could look like in gtk. On https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/goocanvas one can read that it is not actively developed and the commit history also shows not to much activity. So I don't think that goocanvas will work with gtk4.
