Can group be table child?

I'm using group to join text with its background - rectangle. Need
table to place several such elements in column.
In all cases when i add several groups (should be placed vertically),
they all are placed in the corner of table, each above other, and don't
receive any events. But if i add rectangles to table instead of groups
- they are placed.

I tried also to set and don't set x/y properties of group item, but it
is helpless.
