Thanks. I've applied it with a few minor changes, so it should build
now.

There are a number of problems with drawing though - mainly with
scrolling (the area coords need to take scrollbars into account), but
redrawing also has a horrible flicker (the gdk_window_set_back_pixmap()
calls used to avoid this).

I'll try to look at them later.
