problem compiling goffice

Dear all,
Today I tried to compile the latest git version of goffice on my debian
jessie laptop.
It failed with the following error:
./configure: line 16686: syntax error near unexpected token `1.12'
./configure: line 16686: `GTK_DOC_CHECK(1.12)'
Makefile:485: recipe for target 'config.status' failed
make: *** [config.status] Error 2
I do have gtk-doc-tools installed.
Any idea?
