Right. I installed the yelp-tools package on Debian which provide the missing macro-file. However. Should not the configuration detect the problem before I have a chance to run make? You are the first one who explains it to me, after many failed attempts to build Gnumeric. Works now. Michael

Line 1255 in doc/Makefile is @YELP_HELP_RULES@. In the meantime, I have also replaced my cloned git repository, but without effect. The solution was to add a tab in front of @YELP_HELP_RULES@. If this was the right thing to do, maybe spare me the manipulation of the Makefile after each update. Otherwise, I would be glad to know an alternative procedure. But I got it built and installed.
