python plugin for gnumeric on windows xp

Hello,
I have installed latest release of Gnumeric on windows xp and I cannot
get python plug-in to work. It says it did not find python dll. I have
ActiveState Python 26 installed and functioning OK.
Is there a fix to this or Pyhton for Gnumeric works only on Linux?
I am stuck with windows for the moment.
