problem compiling 1.8.0

I'm trying to compile gnumeric 1.8.0 under Mac OS X 10.5.1 using a  
fink tree that's mostly gnome 2.20. The compile fails with:

make[3]: *** No rule to make target `gnumeric-C.omf', needed by  
`omf_timestamp'.  Stop.

make: *** [all] Error 2
### execution of make failed, exit code 2
