need a function or formel in Gnumeric that return a range with cells
containing some data.

For example
The range K3:K10 contains data or references to other cells. Other cells
in
column is blank.

So

DefinedRange(K3:K100) will return range K3:K10.

where DefinedRange is the function I need. Is this possible?

There are several ways to do this, depending on the data you have in the
range (text or numbers, and whether it includes blanks or not). Google
for "excel dynamic ranges" and you'll get some pages that show you how
these formulas work.
