This might seem like a silly question, but will this translation be mandatory?
I can think of a situation (due to compatability with Excel, which
didn't translate function names, at least to Hebrew), that people
might want to use Hebrew menu items, yet English names for functions.
Will this combination of translations be possible?
Other then that, great job! I can also think of people who will
consider this a very big selling point compared to Excel.

I totally agree with you, we have to make this optional. I thought about
various way of not forcing these translations. The most simple way would
be to add a preference that toggles whether functions should be
displayed translated or not. Note that it will always be possible to
enter both the original english version of a function, and the
translated variant.

Another unrelated idea: It would be nice to have an online database that
is used for all the function translations. This allows us to get
traceable decisions and orient as much as possible towards
XL-compliance. For now, dumping all the function definitions with
possibilities to give feedback sounds like a very good start.

I will look into it.
