mv foo.gnumeric foo.xml.gz
gunzip foo.xml.gz
vi foo.xml

p.s. Desktop users on my LAN at last human resource training voted
Gnumeric and Abiword like default office applications. They said that
Gnome office simpler and fast than other office suite (It has contest
with OO.o, Koffice and closed source SoftMaker Office).
