The suggestion of a one-step unfreeze-refreeze is interesting, but it
may be hard to reach agreement on what it should do. I often move
part of the sheet off-screen before freezing panes if that part is
used for resources that need to be used but not seen.
I sent Jody a patch last night to add 'Re-freeze' to the menu. It will have to wait until 1.3, if you want the patch to play with let me know.
This simply adds a re-freeze option to the menu, it is disabled it the panes aren't frozen.
'Re-freeze' is equivalent to doing an 'Un-freeze' followed by a 'Freeze' + it just freezes at whatever cell(s) are currently selected.
In the case where you want to re-freeze, but also move some of the currently frozen rows/columns off screen, then you still have to do that as a three stage process (un-freeze, move the view, re-freeze at the new position). The patch doesn't stop you doing this -- it just doesn't make it any easier.
