Hi,

I'm writting for the first time on this group.
I'm using GNU/Linux (Slackware 9.0) with last version
of dropline-gnome (Slackware's Gnome edition).
Since couple days, when I try to run Gnumeric I got
a very strange error and Gnumeric crashes on startup.
The only message I got is:

######################################
gekon gekon:$ gnumeric
Bonobo accessibility support initialized
GTK Accessibility Module initialized
Atk Accessibilty bridge initialized

** ERROR **: error condition on server fd is 0
aborting...
Bonobo accessibility support initialized
GTK Accessibility Module initialized
Atk Accessibilty bridge initialized
######################################

It does not say a lot for me.
I tried to find some information about my problem.
and I can not find any useful information about myu problem on the
Gnumerig mailing list.
But I've found that someone had similar problems (in September 2003).
This error is described on the Gnome bugzilla:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121675

Descriptions on bugzilla (above) say that there could be some problems with
ATK, someone says that after he disables ATK Gnumeric didn't crash.

I tried to uninstall Gnumeric which comes with dropline-gnome, and
compile it myself. Compilation went fine, but Gnumeric crashes also
after that.

Please, could someone tell me what exactly causes this problem ?
How to solve it ?

There is the listing of all packages installed on my Slackware 9.0

The problem lies with atk. You can either disable it (if you do not
require "accessibility support")

Installing a newer version of atk and recompiling gnumeric then may also
help (but we haven't really figured out which version you would need.)
