Some dev guidance needed

Hi, 

I am modifying the sources to make Gnumeric 1.1.15 to achieve this 2 
features: 

1. save in .XLS format by default
2. make print default to a file named /tmp/printed.ps 

Can someone tell me where in the sources should I check? I have spend 2 days 
from now searching deep into the code but it is too complex and it is an 
urgent modifications I need to do for my boss. Hope anybody can help.
