Previously any Excel 95 or earlier sheets with a password, or with some "security" settings which Microsoft deem worthy of security by obscurity could not be opened because Gnumeric did not implement the necessary XOR based algorithm. Some Excel 97 and later sheets were also affected, especially in countries where strong cryptography is prohibited. The attached patch implements Microsoft's early XOR based 128 bit crypto so that these files behave properly in Gnumeric. Please apply to 1.2 CVS (or give permission to apply) Nick.
