Is it possible to apply the clipboard change that is already in HEAD ?

This change made Edit/Copy and Edit/Cut set the CLIPBOARD in addition to
using PRIMARY and I would have expected it to be a fairly small change
(if it wasn't then forget it)

Applying the change would improve interop with compliant software (all
other GNOME apps, KDE 3.x) without harming interop with non-compliant
legacy apps (GNU Emacs, KDE 2.x, older copies of Gnumeric)
