auto-completion drinks waaaaay too much coffee

two requests for the developers:

auto-completion is too enthusiastic about its job.  i just spent
about 20 seconds of trying to enter "E" and gnumeric would keep entering
"Exact".  it reminded me of a 3 stooges routine.

can the developers provide a config option to turn off or delay auto
completion?

or maybe something like "it suggests the word but won't use the
suggestion if you press return and will use the suggestion if you press
the right arrow or tab".  or something along those lines...

also -- are there any plans of modifying import so that you can import a
plain old text file of numbers like:

1.0
2.0
3.0

into the current sheet rather than creating a new instance of gnumeric
when you do this?  i think it would be a worthwhile thing.  i'd think it
would be less complicated than starting a whole new instance of
gnumeric.
