Do you mean that there is no way to distribute compiled add-ins separately?
Nope. There is no way to do so *reliably*
Or how is it supposed to be done?
tl;dr it is a lot of work to be able to.
The longer form: ABI for the libraries and a proper API / ABI for gnote
itself.
