I'm still wondering what it would take to port the Lock/Unlock (read-only option) that was developed for Tomboy so that it could be used with Gnote.
I really do want to leave the Gnome world behind, but, because I'm so dependent on Tomboy, I'm having to keep all kinds of Gnomish stuff in my otherwise Gnome-free Archlinux setup.
Gnote starts faster than Tomboy and doesn't require so many Gnome dependencies.
However, I really do need the Lock/Unlock feature so that critical notes can be write-protected. Before this add-in was developed for Tomboy, I found that I often inadvertently modified important notes, changing phone numbers, file locations, or critical lines of config files that I needed.
I believe the Lock/Unlock feature is made possible in Tomboy by the presence of ReadOnly.dll in my ~/.tomboy/addins directory. I'm not sure it's an official add-in or not. I cannot exactly remember where I even found this very useful add-in.
Any help would be appreciate! Thank you.
