I vote for #1.
Lacking things like integration with the evolution address book would
really really be a downer (that and the evo address book provides a
whole heap of functionality). And in corporate environments loosing
GNOME would mean loosing Pessulus & Sabayon support at well, meaning
the application configuration could not be managed. Those points plus
yer-another-configuration-system,.... ugh.
