Hi Conrad,

Just a short mail to tell you I have no idea what can happen. Perhaps a
SUSE user here can help you better than me as it seems specific to SuSE,
and for me, you are doing things correctly...

Just try this perhaps:
export ACLOCAL_PATH="/opt/gnome/share/aclocal/:/usr/share/aclocal"
and if it doesn't work:
export ACLOCAL_PATH="/usr/share/aclocal:/opt/gnome/share/aclocal/"

To change the priority in case of conflict.
