According to the change log of the driver:


29 February 2004
- Preliminary 2.6 kernel driver (tested with 2.6.3)
- Non-Floating point (Integer version) driver for Linux 2.4 from
Renzo Davoli <renzo AT cs.unibo.it>), added to contrib directory.

So it dose seems that there is some activity on the development,
I suggest that you email the driver developers and ask them to try 
latest Gnomemeeting perhaps.
