You can always try to compile them. When I tried to compile gm on SuSE 
8.1 I had a problem with the gtk package provided from SuSE and finally 
I gave up cause I had to upgrade gtk2 and glib2 too, iirc. I could do 
this for my personal box but not for official rpms
