The problem is is that pwc is marked broken from 2.6.3(?) to 2.6.7. Later Kernels have the new 9.x version of pwc. If you have one of the above mentioned kernels, just enable support for broken modules in your kernel config (it is not really broken, it works fine for me with 2.6.5), select the module and rebuild your kernel.
